Langley by the Sea
History

The Town of Langley was founded in 1880 by Jacob Antes. At 15 years old he was too young to homestead the land, so he purchased 120 acres for $100. Nine years later he formed the Langley Land and Improvement Company with Judge J.W. Langley, a resident of Seattle .

Today, Langley is a small seaside village with a population of around 1000 residents. The town area has a main street with quaint shops, bed and breakfasts, galleries and restaurants. From various locations along the main street there are breathtaking views of Saratoga Passage, and neighboring islands. You can walk down to the beach from the main street and explore a multitude of marine life. Langley is a great starting point for exploring Whidbey island.
